These terms govern the use of Gal Goes Solo's travel consulting services. By booking a session, you agree to them.
Who you're booking with
Gal Goes Solo is operated by Jennifer Varner, a US-registered Sole Proprietor based in Idaho, USA. Sessions are delivered remotely from Koh Tao, Thailand.

What the service is
Gal Goes Solo offers personal travel consulting in three tiers:
- Quick Question, $45 USD, 30 minutes, single call (Zoom, WhatsApp video, or written Q & A).
- Trip Plan Session, $90 USD, 60 minutes, single call + written summary delivered within 48 hours.
- Full Itinerary Support, $250 USD, pre-trip planning call + written plan + mid-trip check-in call + 5 days WhatsApp text support during your time on Koh Tao.
Sessions are conversational and tailored. You bring your questions, we work through them with practical, honest advice based on lived experience on Koh Tao and across Thailand.
What the service is NOT
Gal Goes Solo is not a travel agency. We do not book hotels, flights, ferries, dive schools, transport, tours, or any third-party service on your behalf. We do not handle payments to other businesses, manage your trip in real time, or take responsibility for any third-party booking you make based on our recommendations.
The advice provided is informational and based on personal experience. Final decisions about your trip, including bookings, dive activities, transport, and safety choices, remain entirely yours.
Booking and payment
- All prices are in US Dollars (USD) and inclusive of any applicable processing fees.
- After you submit a booking inquiry, a secure payment link is sent by email within 48 hours on weekdays. Payment is required to confirm the session.
- A session is confirmed only once payment is received. We'll send a calendar invite with the meeting link within 24 hours.
- Time slots are listed in Indochina Time (UTC+7, Bangkok). If you need a time outside listed slots, email [email protected].
Cancellation, rescheduling, and refunds
- Rescheduling: free, with at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled session. Email [email protected].
- Same-day cancellations: not refunded. The time slot was reserved for you.
- Sessions already delivered: non-refundable. Once we've spoken or you've received the written plan, the service is considered delivered.
- Sessions you don't show up for: treated as same-day cancellations. Not refunded.
- Genuine emergencies: handled case-by-case. Just email and explain.
Intellectual property
All written plans, summaries, recommendations, and verbal advice provided during sessions are intended for your personal use only. You're welcome to share with travel partners and family. You may not republish, resell, redistribute, or use the content commercially. Blog content remains the property of Gal Goes Solo.
Limitation of liability
The advice provided is informational, based on personal experience, and offered in good faith. It is not a substitute for professional travel agency services, medical advice, dive certification training, legal advice, or insurance.
Gal Goes Solo is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from decisions made based on the advice given, including but not limited to: trip changes, booking errors, weather disruptions, travel insurance gaps, dive incidents, lost belongings, or any third-party services you book based on our recommendations.
You are responsible for your own travel insurance, dive certification, visa compliance, and personal safety.
Communication during the service
For the Full Itinerary Support tier, WhatsApp text support runs for the 5 consecutive days you specify, between 8am and 8pm Indochina Time. Reasonable response time: under 4 hours during waking hours. We are not a 24/7 emergency service.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, USA. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by direct conversation will be addressed in good faith first; failing that, the competent courts of Boise, Idaho will have exclusive jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the new version applies to bookings made after the update date listed at the top. Existing bookings remain governed by the version in effect at the time of payment.
